Each City Has a History

Next time I asked my daughter Sara to join me. Our vacations are on their way. I was pleased with visiting the museums. We’d like to know some facts about the history of Santa Barbara. It is also unique as well as everything in this city. We are looking through the leaflets of the city.
Chumash Indians are the local population. They are calm and friendly by nature. History of this place is various – they came into contact with European civilization in 1542. Juan Cabrillo was the first who visited this marvelous land. 60 years later his grandsons repeated his visit. Their frigates were caught by a severe storm, but for the miraculous chance they left alive. It happened thanks to the bay and they called St. Barbara, now it is worldwide known as Santa Barbara.
Only in 1782 the Spaniards settled here permanently. They built a fort of El Presidio. And there is a museum here. Then, the Catholic mission was built here, which is the tenth in California. It is so beautiful that it is bestowed the title "Queen of Missions". Hispano-Moorish architecture is decorated with a magnificent look of Santa Barbara, and local authorities try to keep nice those new buildings. The first thing that surprise tourists is the lack of crowds in this fabulous location.
Santa-Barbara is one of the top lines in the American rankings on the number of restaurants and cafes. Food and drinks are excellent in each of them surely. One can find here American, Californian, Italian, Marine, Japanese, Chinese and Thai veggie and French cuisine during his/her vacation. Common people and naughty tourists can be satisfied with good food in such a miraculous city. My daughter Sara liked Japanese food very much due to its simplicity. The fact is my daughter hates eating meat. Eating excellent food and admiring the museums and other sightseeing we have forgotten about all our worries. We are just having fun and excitement.
