Museums in Santa Barbara

My daughter Sara doesn’t differ from other teenagers and hates visiting museums and art exhibitions during our vacation. She is fond of going shopping and choosing an extra stuff for casual wear. This time she stayed with my aunt Glenna to cook rice with vegetables. Glenna is 50 and she is energetic and active in social life. She cooks perfectly. I hope she will teach a cooking lesson to my daughter.
As for me, I rushed to museums - there were many of them in this city. I have got a leaflet that helps me to organize my vacation in Santa Barbara. The first museum, which my eye has caught, is the Art Museum. It was founded in 1959. Today it contains more than eight and a half thousand works of fine art. There are lots of art works of famous European and American artists. Looking at the pictures, I realized that each artist had tried to transfer his own feelings to a visitor, whether it was joy, grief, or trouble. And the picture that he had represented possessed a special design. I understood that it was not easy to induce the same feelings with visitors as he had had while he had been drawing the work. My vacations begin successfully in this city and I am thankful for that.
The second museum is famous for natural science. It is one of the oldest museums in the city, which is rich in its large collection of specimens (more than 3 million) of all vertebrates and insects. In addition there is a huge collection of different species of mammals and birds whose habitat is California. Schoolchildren are having their classes right here, in the museum. Their teacher tells them amazing stories about the animals and insects, which are living in this place. The third museum is proud of Asian and American arts, antiques and photographs. It was founded in 1941. The Planetarium Museum of Gladwin is known for exposing distant planets, stars and galaxies. It is amazing to watch such a miracle sitting in the observatory with huge telescopes and unfamiliar devices. In the end of my vacation I visited one more museum called the Maritime Museum, which is located in the Harbor (the Naval Reserve Center Santa Barbara) on the old pier. I wish I had taken my daughter along with me to admire the wonders of Santa Barbara. All of these museums are surrounded with beautiful gardens and parks. They are pretty.
